Our riding program at Valerie Engler Farm focuses on teaching strong basics that enhance the horse and rider relationship. Our approach ensures that every student enjoys a safe and dynamic equestrian experience. We emphasize safety and comfort of both horse and rider at all levels.

Our new facility is specially designed for a rider's enjoyment. Our covered round pen is perfect for safely instructing beginning riders of all ages. Our private trails, large outdoor ring, and jump field give many opportunities for riders to hone their skills while having entirely too much fun! We offer quality, knowledgeable instruction on our talented lesson ponies and horses.

These organized, budget-friendly lesson packages are designed to encourage frequent participation. We want you to be a part of our fun-loving equestrian community!

Beginner's Package Perfect for the brand-new rider, or as a refresher. You will be matched with one of our fabulous lesson horses or ponies. Lessons concentrate on developing basic handling, grooming, tacking up, and riding skills. Two half hour lessons per week guarantee rapid, successful improvement. Most students are ready for group lessons and advanced private lessons in 2-3 months. $200/mo.

Next Step Package: Now that students are confident handling and tacking up their lesson horse/pony on their own, they can enjoy a full 30 minutes of riding. This package promotes successful learning and quick progress, continuing the twice a week schedule started during the Beginner's Package. Lessons may be a mix of private and group lessons, depending on the ability and needs of each student. $250/mo

Half Lease Package Special opportunity to get a taste of ownership and more time with your favorite equine lesson pal. Includes half board, health care fee, one group lesson, one private lesson, one free hack per week, limited use at shows (show use fee inc., you pay only transport and coaching!) $500/mo.

Full Lease Package Fantastic opportunity to experience ownership without lifetime commitment. Includes full board with boarder's privileges, health care fee, three lessons per week, three free hack days, full use at shows (show use fee inc., you pay only transport and coaching!) $1100/mo.

Full Board Experience all VEF has to offer through professional care and training! We offer: 1. Use of all brand new facilities, included heated common areas and viewing room, 100x250 outdoor ring, 62'covered training pen, private trails, and jump field 2. Poulin Equi-Pro grain and New England grown timothy/grass mix hay 3. Automatic heated waterers in every stall 4. Full-time access to 30x84 "buddy" runs 5. Consistent daily handling by our small, qualified staff, including routine visual and tactile exams to determine your horse/pony's mental and physical health and ensure early detection of problems 6. Trainer lives on site! 7. Night check between 8-10 p.m. every night. 8. In-house laundry service, including all blankets! 9. Dirty/wet blankets changed as necessary. Blankets are also changed to accommodate weather fluctuations and as necessary for each individual's comfort 10. Fly spray supply and application 11. Daily grooming as needed 12. Routine deworming as recommended by farm vet 13. First aid care, medical care as prescribed by vet or medical professional, daily therapies as needed 14. Emergency medical care until vet arrives and attendance throughout visit 15. Trace clipping, muzzle/ears/leg trimming 16. Scheduling of and handling during farrier, vet, and chiropractic services 17. One training session per week. $800/mo.

Boarder's Package Come join our special group of dedicated equestrians! Boarders receive either two group lessons and one private, or two privates and one group per week depending on you and your horse's needs. Boarders are invited to hack any day they do not have a lesson scheduled. If you are going to be away, your package price can be applied to 4 training rides per week to keep your horse fit for your return. $1000/mo.

Young Horse Package Take advantage of our proven system for starting or refresher training for young horses and ponies. Five additional training sessions per week are added to the one per week you recieve with full board. Owner is invited to attend all training sessions at no additional cost. Once appropriate, owner is invited to substitute training sessions for lessons at no additional cost. $1200/mo.
